Description:

Yerba Mate is derived from the leaves of a small South American evergreen tree. It has been consumed as a tea since early in the 1800's when it was discovered by Auguste de Saint Hilaire. Many of the compounds found in Yerba Mate are similar to those found in tea, including polyphenols, tannins and xanthine alkaloids.
